How did people cut their toenails before the invention of scissors? Or their fingernails for that matter?

According to wikkipedia even in 2nd century Turkey scissors looked something like this.

I wouldn’t fancy getting into the little thick bits of my pinky toenail with these. And I’m guessing your average peasant shmo couldn’t afford this kind of high tech marvel anyway.

So how did they cut  their toenails? Cos mine grow pretty fast and strong…

Our aim this Christmas was to do as little as possible. So we got a stack of DVDs and a hoard of food and booze and luxuriated in the laziest Christmas of all time.

London and Oxford Street are so quiet on Xmas day it’s eerie.

In the early evening we went for a walk through the half empty streets. We came across a distraught teenage girl sobbing in a Soho doorway. I tried to get her to tell me what was worng, but she just kept crying. I asked her if she wanted the Police. She didn’t object so we called them and of course they came to the rescue. They said they’d find a shelter for her and I knew they would because London cops are excellent. I hope she’s OK, poor little thing. She said she’d had no where to stay for 3 days. Couldn’t get her to give anymore details. She just kept crying.

Today I had a visit from my littlest mate Jed Skea. As you can see he’s utterly adorable. His parting gift to me was a trail of milky puke down my right arm. Oooo.

Unfortunately for Jed his parents are too poor and computer illiterate to give him a blog of his own.

Gee wizz, I always thought those Intelligent Design advocates were a bunch of dumb bunnys, but check out this clip on Youtube. You’ll never look at christians eating bananas the same way again.

I can’t help but wonder what they’d do with a pineapple…
